Who are we?

What is Wine & Blooms?

Wine and Blooms is a garden experience company. Our mission is to make gardening fun and accessible to all. Our mix of educational as well as hands-on workshops allow people of all ages and interests to come together for a common purpose – having a fun time gardening!

We help remove potential worries about lack of skills or experience by having highly talented instructors to help make sure you have all the support you need to complete the projects. We also take the hassle out of shopping for materials or having strange craft tools or supplies on-hand for yourself – we have everything you need without the stress!

We try to create an encouraging environment for all, and you will find that others who attend are just like you!

What if I'm not that creative?

We believe everyone has some creativity inside of them that is just waiting to be unleashed! Our instructors are all highly trained and will help you along the way. You won’t have to worry that you will mess anything up, we will always work with you to make sure you are 100% thrilled with your project.

What if I have a black thumb and kill plants?

We all worry about this one, don’t worry! We have designed projects that appeal to plant lovers and not so much alike. Our goal is to have projects that are either from the garden – made with plant material. Or for the garden – things that can be decor or art in the garden, and generally do not having living plant material involved in the crafts.

If the craft has live plant material involved, we have either chosen hardy succulents (low maintenance) or other plants that we think can handle some tough love. We also make sure to tell you about plant care, and send you home with instructions so that you feel confident!

What are your services?

Our primary services are:

  • Monthly Workshops
  • Special Events
  • Garden Tours
  • Private Parties

Please explore our Services pages for more information.

Do you do private parties?

Yes, we do host private parties! We love sharing the fun of gardening, so we are happy to help custom design a workshop just for your event. If you pick from our Private Event Catalog we can get back to you faster with availability and pricing.

Our team has built great relationships with a number of local venues, so depending on your group size, the space requirements and the tone of the event, we are happy to make arrangements specifically for your group.

If you would like us to custom design a craft for your group there is a $150 customization fee. This will cover our expenses for developing new curriculum and vendors specific to the requested project.  We have a catalog of class ideas, and are also open if you have crafts in mind too! (We love Pinterest boards!)

Do you do fundraisers?

We are piloting this business in 2018, so we unfortunately are unable to do fundraisers at this time. However, we are happy to review requests on a case-by-case basis. Please email us – info@poplarpointstudio.com

Registration

How do I register for an event?

You can register for events through our website on the Events page, or contact us to register for you. We encourage you to register online as we don’t always have someone in the office to take orders over the phone.  A $10 fee will be added if we register for you.

Once you receive a confirmation email, you will be able to edit your tickets at any time up until 2 days before your event. You can either re-book to another event, or we can give you store credit to be used towards a future class.

What is the return policy?

We understand that life happens and things do come up that make changes to plans at the last minute. Up to 2 days (48 hours) before an event you are able to re-book yourself directly from the website or your confirmation email.

If you don’t know a specific class that you’d like to attend, we can give you store credit for the current ticket value which can be used for a class at a later date.

If you decide to cancel within 2 days (48 hours) there will be no refunds given as we will have already purchased materials specifically for you.

Is there an age limit?

Our classes are primarily intended for adults 21 and over, especially as most of our venues have a legal age to be admitted. There will be a note in the event page if there are specific age restrictions. Alternately, if the workshop is intended for kids or families, we will also specify that in the event description.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We do allow walk-ins, but do not encourage it as we may have sold out all of the seats and not have any extra materials on-hand for you.  If you’d like to make sure you have a seat, please register for an event here.

How should I prepare?

What is provided? What should I wear?

We are here to make this easy for you. So we provide all the supplies, materials and tools that you will need to create each project.  Additionally we are happy to loan you gloves and aprons so that you can protect your hands and clothes.  Dress comfortably, but also expect to use some rouge moss, dirt or other craft supplies.

How long is each event?

Class lengths differ based on the workshop itself. Most of our monthly classes range from 1.5 hours to 2 hours.  Most of our special events are held on the weekends, and are likely to be 2-4 hours each. Garden Tours will have specific duration listed in the event.

Are these events BYOB?

Great question. We do not have a liquor license, so we cannot sell alcoholic beverages. However, we have partnered with some fabulous venues that already sell wine, beer or other spirits. We ask that at those events you DO NOT bring your own beverages.

A very select group of events we will allow you to bring your own beverages (you’ll see this note in the workshop description), but you do so at your own risk. We always encourage people to drink responsibly if you are going to drink.

Can I bring my own snacks?

You may bring your own snack, however we do not monitor guests potential allergies, so please be mindful of what you bring. Most venues have a restaurant/cafe or snacks available for sale and we encourage you to plan to arrive a little early so you can enjoy their yummy treats! We also provide some munchies.

If you do chose to bring your own, please be aware that it is possible to end up with dirt, wine or other materials in your snack.

What if I have allergies to certain plants?

This happens sometimes with certain cut flowers & shrubs. We do our best to make sure that all projects are safe for everyone, but if you know that you have sensitive skin and you are concerned about plant material in a given project, please do reach out to us directly with questions.

Venue Questions

Can I sit with my friends?

Of Course! We want these workshops to be super fun, so we encourage you to sit with whomever you like.  Seats are available on a first come, first serve basis. Depending on the venue and how we have the rooms set up, you may want to arrive early to make sure you can get the seats nearest to each other.

Also – these are great events to meet new people, and we encourage you to make new friends as well. Don’t be afraid to sit with someone you don’t know – you may be surprised to find that you have a lot in common!

Can I bring a guest who is not going to make the project?

We prefer to make sure that all available seats for the workshop are only for guests that will be making the project, so that we can make sure that anyone who really wanted to make the craft can get priority. If the venue has extra space to wait at another table or bar, we can certainly make exceptions.

What if there is bad weather the day of my event?

Unfortunately we can’t control mother nature, as much as we would like.  In the event of inclement or dangerous weather conditions we will notify all guests at least 6 hours in advance so that you can adjust plans. In this event, we will offer full refunds for the workshop, or allow attendees to select another date.

When should I arrive for the workshop?

We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before your workshop starts. This will allow you to settle in, greet friends, grab some snacks or a beverage and allow the class to start on time.

Do you have any options for people with a disability?

All of our monthly venues have handicapped accessible entries and bathrooms for guests.  Our special events & tours may not. However, if you need special considerations, please email or call us at any time so that we can make arrangements.
