Welcome to Wine & Blooms – Poplar Point Studio is so excited to share our love of gardening & DIY crafts with you! We believe that gardening should be fun and accessible to everyone.
One way to do this is to hire an expert to be your gardener. Which is what Poplar Point Studio focuses on. Since 2008, Poplar Point Studio has specialized in making gardens & outdoor spaces beautiful through services like garden design, installation & maintenance programs as well as custom container gardens & holiday decor.
Another way is to “do it yourself!” That is how Wine & Blooms was created. People like to learn to do things themselves and not have to hire the work to be done. Some of our gardening customers were hesitant to try new things because they were afraid of failure, afraid of not knowing enough about plants or even how to just get started with a project.
Poplar Point Studio owner, Leigh McGonagle, taught a few workshops in the summer of 2016 to test if this model could work and be fun for customers. One of the amazing crew members – Kalee, who has a background in fine art & pottery, showed an interest in expanding this idea to be more regular and varied workshops. This was a great opportunity to combine her love of plants with her passion for art.
Leigh and Kalee continued to test the idea in the summer of 2017 by offering a few more classes and getting direct feedback from customers to find out what kinds of classes they would like. In the winter of 2017/2018 they took the leap to start building out a business model that would turn this dream a reality.
Our Goal: Help make gardening fun and accessible to everyone.
Wine & Blooms wants to break down barriers and create memorable, lighthearted, and supportive environments where people of all ages and skills can have a great time gardening. The hope is that each good memory from one of the workshops becomes a reminder that you can garden, and that you’ve got a community of people who will back you up!
Wine & Blooms has designed many different types of gardening experiences from educational sessions, DIY workshops, special events, private tours and more. The hope that our love of all things plant related starts to rub off on you!
